COLUMBIA COUNTY 2013 grant recipients: Clarion Concerts for a Baroque program for harpsichord, oboe and violin; Columbia County Youth Bureau for Undercover Playground project with the Ellen Sinopoli Dance Company; Friends of Chatham Library for multidisciplary arts programs for youth; Friends of Taconic State Park & Sharon Powers for Winds in the Wilderness performances at Church of St John in the Wilderness in Copake Falls; Hudson Area Association Library for Community Stories local oral history project; Hudson Area Library & Diata Diata International Folkloric Theatre for production of “The Fairy’s Tail” an original dance and theatrical production; Hudson Jazzworks for master class, pre-concert talk & improvisational jazz concert at Hudson Opera House; HRC/Showcase Theatre for staged readings of original plays; Hudson Valley Choral Society for musicians for 2013 concerts; North Chatham Library for world percussion music with Brian Melick, Arm of the Sea Theater, Art of Astrophotography with Scott Nammacher and other notable offerings; Roving Actors Repertory Ensemble for production of full stage and orchestral productions; Uel Wade Music Scholarship, Inc & Bend the Knotted Oak for chamber music concerts at St James Church in Chatham, Taconic Hills Performing Arts Center, and Camp Hill in Ghent; Valatie Community Theatre for Youth Theater productions and Valatie Free Library for Graphic Novel workshops for teens with Barbara Slade.
GREENE COUNTY 2013 grant recipients: Athens Cultural Center for multi-media historical and photography exhibits; Cairo Public Library for swing dance, songwriting, guitar, and other programs, Cairo Library & Ruth Leonard for “River, Pond & Lake” outdoor painting workshops and exhibit; Catskill Community Center & Matt Bua/Laura Anderson for The Art of Play” sculptural play space; Catskill Public Library for teen creative writing workshop with Deborah Artman; Community of Windham Foundation & John Quinn for “There’s a Meeting Here Tonight” concert; D.R. Evarts Library for Dollmaking & Japanese Manga programs; Heart of Catskill Association & David Woodin for classical concerts; Love ‘N Care Pet Sanctuary & Margo Muller for children’s theater project; Town of Hunter & Kevin VanHentenryck for outdoor stone carving class and demonstration along Route 23 in Hunter; Town of Lexington & James Milton for a Civil War-themed theater production at the Orpheum; Town of Prattsville & Nancy Barton for art workshops & Art of Mudfest exhibition; Windham Arts Alliance for Art Fest Studio Tours.
SCHOHARIE COUNTY 2013 grant recipients: Community Christmas Chorus for a performance of Handel’s “Messiah”; Jefferson Historical Society for Maple Museum series featuring a capella performances by City of the Hills Sweet Adelines, Harmony Street doo-wap group, and other musical offerings; Landis Arboretum for Mettawee River Theater Performance; Richmondville Historical Society for Music at the Mill concerts; Schoharie Colonial Heritage Association for free summer children’s art camps; Upper Catskill String Quartet for American chamber music concerts; Village of Cobleskill for a community mural project; Village of Schoharie for dance and band concerts; Village of Sharon Springs for a mural project celebrating local history and agriculture; Schoharie County ARC for Art Creation and Showcase program; Schoharie County Community Action & Schoharie Theater Project for comedy, drama & murder mystery productions; and Schoharie County Youth Bureau for Ellen Sinopoli Dance Company outdoor performance.
