leadership and
vision necessary for our communities to work together, support the work
of our
artists and cultural organizations, and promote artistic and cultural
opportunities for our residents and guests so that our vision may
become a
reality. With this purpose, GCCA provides
information and
services to artists, arts organizations, cultural and educational
institutions,
civic groups, community agencies and the general public.
Acting as a chamber of commerce for the arts
and a clearing house for the promotion of arts activities, we aim to
stimulate
the area's cultural and economic growth through the arts. Community

artists' interests in mind. Annually,
over 5000 people visit our galleries which showcase the work of local,
regional, and national artists. We also maintain ongoing exhibits of

Through two regrant programs, the Greene County Cultural Fund promotes the arts by making public funds available to local non-profit organizations and individual artists for cultural programming. The County Initiative Program (CIP) awards revenues provided by the Greene County Legislature and area businesses to major county arts and cultural institutions. The Twin Counties Cultural Fund Decentralization Program (DEC), a joint effort with neighboring Columbia County, regrants New York State Council on the Arts funds to community organizations and agencies, including sponsored and individual artists.
