CELEBRATING 32 YEARS
at the BEAUX ARTS BALL!
![]() Lex Grey belts out a song in the Silent Auction room at the 20th Annual Beaux Arts Ball. The
Board of
Directors, staff and volunteers of the Greene County Council on the
Arts would like to take this opportunity to express our abundant thanks
to everyone who helped make our 20th Annual Beaux Arts Ball an affair
to remember. As we celebrate 32 years of service to our community, your
loyalty and support is heartwarming and more valuable than ever. This
year’s Ball was held on March 29 at the Copper Tree Restaurant at
Hunter Mountain. The Beaux Arts Ball is GCCA’s major fundraising event,
generating indispensable proceeds that support the vital programs and
services we provide to the community throughout the year. The success
of this year’s event is due to the hard work and dedication of many.
Net proceeds of over $45,000 were raised towards our 2008 fundraising
goal. Our thanks go to everyone who took part in the festivities as
well as to those who contributed to making the evening an overwhelming
success.
The
dance floor was never empty thanks to great music provided by the talented musicians of Nite-Time. Special
thanks to our lead
sponsor, The Bank of Greene County, and to our table benefactors: the
Bank of Greene County (Platinum); Michel Goldberg; Jerry’s Kids; Key
Bank and Key Private Bank; Keith A. Lampman; C.B. & Natasha
Slutzky, David & Jean Slutzky, Windham Fine Arts (Silver), to The
Peckham Family Foundation for their special benefactor donation, and to
our numerous individual benefactors. Thanks to Gary Bielski for
polishing our image through his donation of layout and design services
and to Patrick Milbourn for the wonderful “After the Ball” painting
that served as the theme for this year’s ball. We are grateful as well
to Rob Shannon and Jan Riccabono of fotopic.com, for their photographic
services throughout the evening, creating wonderful memories for each
attendee.
Designer Jean
Slutzky transformed the Copper Tree Restaurant with ostrich feathers,
huge candelabras, crystals and a New York City skyline mural. Thanks to event hosts, David and Jean Slutzky, and a special thanks to Jean for working her magic throughout the ballroom and silent auction area, creating a swanky and sophisticated New York City ballroom environment to compliment Patrick Milbourn’s painting. Thanks to the entire Slutzky family for their generous hospitality; to David Kukle and the superb staff at The Copper Tree Restaurant for their skillful and patient help; to Head Chef Jerry Greenberg, assisted by Valerie Brainerd, for their prodigious talents and delectable artistry; to Anthony Patsky for graciously donating his time and renowned expertise as auctioneer; to the First Niagara Bank for underwriting our Distinguished Service Awards; to Ellen Mahnken for the elegant hand-calligraphed presentation awards; to Nite-Time, New York City’s premier party band, for fabulous non-stop party music which got everyone onto the dance floor; to GCCA Board Member Michel Goldberg and band leaders Yves and Amy Goldberg for underwriting Nite-Time’s appearance; to Lex Grey’s Naughty Cabaret for “smokin’” renditions during the cocktail hour in the Silent Auction area; to our friends in the media for their unflagging support in publicizing this and other Council events. And special thanks to GCCA’s Board of Directors, staff, and volunteers for their hard work and long hours. Congratulations to Deborah Allen, recipient of the 2008 Distinguished Service Award. This award was established to honor individuals whose outstanding contributions have significantly benefited the health of the Arts Council as well as the cultural life of Greene County.
