Visit the Greene County Council on the Arts Annual Landscape Exhibit, a show of  members’ artwork at the GCCA Mountaintop Gallery, Main Street in Windham. The exhibit features original paintings, prints, photographs and multimedia works of about fifty member artists, inspired by views of Greene and Columbia counties.

The 2004 exhibit will open January 17 and run through February 29, 2004.

The public is cordially invited to attend our opening reception, January 17th, from 2-4pm. Join us! Admission is free. Enjoy the mountain vistas on your drive to Windham and come share the company of artists and friends.

The Landscape 2004 show documents the wide range of expression of the region’s contemporary landscape artists, often capturing awesome local views of Kaaterskill Falls and Platte Clove, as well as depictions of more humble, or personally meaningful scenes of the mountains and the valley.

Neighborhood

& New Kids on the Street

January 31 –
March 6, 2004

Reception: Sat., January, 31, 5-7pm

Neighborhood & New Kids on the Street is a multi-media exhibition including paintings, sculpture, photography, commercial and documentary artwork. The Neighborhood show artists are inspired by community life in rural downtown neighborhoods. Main Street facades and historic town environs are celebrated as well as change and revitalization. The group show includes Dina Bursztyn, Julie C. Chase, Jim Cramer, V. James Di Perna, Kico Govantes, Claude Haton, Phyllis Hjorth, Sherell Jacobson, Karen Rhodes, Enrico Scull and others.

The name of the show, Neighborhood & New Kids on the Street, takes on an additional meaning, as it welcomes several “newcomer” artists to Catskill’s Main Street: Kico Govantes; a painter who has created public art for downtown San Francisco, mixed media artist Julie C. Chase and stoneware sculptor Dina Bursztyn.

The public is invited to meet the artists at the opening reception on Saturday, January 31, 5-7pm. And all members are welcome to attend the Annual GCCA Members Meeting which follows the opening, 7-8pm. For more information call the GCCA Catskill offices at 518-943-3400.
