Rivers flow, streams race and bubble, waterfalls cascade over rocks and ledges and placid lakes reflect Hudson Valley landscapes in the Greene County Council on the Arts salute to the Hudson-Fulton-Champlain Quadricentennial – “Aquatic New York” – on exhibit from June 6 through July 25. In 1609, Henry Hudson and Samuel de Champlain discovered vast areas teeming with life, supported by the respective bodies of water which would eventually bear their names. Over the next four centuries the beauty and majesty of these waterways have seduced and inspired generations of artists. They continue to do so today. Please join us at the Catskill Gallery, 398 Main Street, in celebrating “Aquatic New York”, as we take a visual journey on those waterways through the eyes of the artists.
