This year a LIVE Auction will take place at 3 pm. GCCA Artist Members submitted original artwork in early June for jury consideration and 15 outstanding works were selected for inclusion in the LIVE Auction. The chosen artists include Eugenie Barron, Paul Barton, Susan Beecher, Allen Bryan, Laura Garramone, Alexandria Gilbert, Carter Hodgkins, Erika M. Klein, Maria Kolodziej-Zincio, Mara Lehmann, Linda Nicholls, Franc Palaia, Susan Sabino, Beth Schneck and Ken Tannebaum. The LIVE Auction is an opportunity for GCCA Artist Members to sell their work and donate a portion of the sale to GCCA, too. Many of the works will begin at a $150 starting bid. A “Local Celebrity” will act as auctioneer and we don’t want to keep you in suspense, so please preview the LIVE Auction works and look for updates at www.greenearts.org. GCCA is celebrating the close of its 41st Year and what a remarkable year it was! Come September GCCA goes forward in its work for more years ahead with its service to the arts and culture in our community! Thanks to the ongoing support from our devoted members and donors, GCCA will continue its programming with its re-grant Programs, Youth Arts and Sprouts Programs, Community Partnerships, the ever expanding Visual Arts Program & Special Events and the Arts Alive-GCCA’s bi-monthly newspaper showcasing the arts and culture in communities throughout Greene, Columbia and Schoharie Counties. GCCA serves these three counties with its NYSCA/Decentralization Community Arts Grant Program!

Once again this year a late summer buffet style luncheon menu crafted from a bounty of locally sourced foods will be served by Maggie’s Krooked Cafe! Guest musicians will play throughout the afternoon and the Garden Party would not be a party without locally crafted beer and artisanal wine from the Catskill region and the Hudson Valley.

Bring the entire family! Children are welcome and will find fun with a few hoola-hoops, jump ropes and kites to keep them entertained. The lovely grounds surrounding the Beattie-Powers Place provide one a sense of calm and wonder. The historic property overlooks the mighty Hudson River and Rip Van Winkle Bridge and provides the perfect setting for an amazing mid-September afternoon.

The GCCA Annual Garden Party is made possible through the kindness of the Friends of Beattie-Powers Place and generous sponsorships provided by Big Top Tent Rentals and others.

When? Saturday, September 16, 2017 from noon to 5 pm. LIVE Auction at 3 pm. Where? Beattie Powers Place, located at the Bridge & Prospect Street intersection in Catskill, NY. For a preview of the Garden Party LIVE Auction, to purchase tickets or for more information, call 518-943-3400, email gcca@greenearts.org or visit www.greenearts.org.

All of us at Greene County Council on the Arts look forward to our 42nd year of service and spending more time with our members, friends and donors. We hope to see you at the Garden Party! It will be a grand and LIVELY Day!
