There’s a need for your special talents and skills on the volunteer roster at the Greene County Council on the Arts galleries and offices in Catskill. There are immediate openings on the front desk and exhibit installation staffs, but many other opportunities exist – gallery maintenance, information distribution, and much, much more. Assistant Curator, Internship, Candidate plays a major, hands-on role in the Masters on Main Street project in upstate, New York. This innovative series of exhibits features work by students and recent alumni from top studio art programs around the country. Exhibition sites are in vacant storefronts and windows lining the 19th century historic Main Street of the Village of Catskill, along the Hudson River, two hours north of New York City. Interns assist with recruiting artists and institutions, curating exhibits, developing related events/programming, installation/de-installation, exhibition signage/interpretive materials and guided tours. Ideal for student or recent graduate in Arts Administration Department wanting to establish curatorial experience working with all aspects of exhibition practice on the East Coast. Candidate expected to be a creative thinker, organized, reliable and inspired in addition to having computer and installation experience. 3-12 Month commitment required.
