Sprouts provides creative opportunities for young children at a pivotal time in their development to work with professional artists and teachers in a fun, noncompetitive environment that allows them to discover themselves through the arts.  While families make and keep connections, children paint and sculpt, sing, dance and improvise movements, discover rhythms, lyrics and songs, and assume imaginative roles. These activities develop self-confidence, cooperation and creativity.  Whether a child continues to develop in a particular art form or become creative learners in what ever they pursue, Sprouts plants that seed.

The GCCA Sprouts program has been enriching the lives of children for over 30 years in Greene County. As many Sprouts participants graduate from the program they decide to continue as volunteer assistants.  If you are a teen or pre-teen interested in working with professional artists to teach young children dance, theater, music or art, then GCCA invites you to volunteer for the 2020 Sprouts program. You can earn your community serve hours too! Call Sprouts Co-Directors Ruth Leonard at 518-634-2289 or Tara Van Roy at 518-821- 8091.
