Call for Silent Auction Items and Art & Donation Form

Dear Artists, Donors, and Friends,

We are immensely grateful to you whose engagement and support has made the work of the Greene County Council on the Arts possible over the past 44 years and we hope that you will continue to stand with us as we forge ahead to build a strong regional arts council – CREATE Council for Resources to Enrich the Arts, Technology & Education.

Our Beaux Arts Ball 2020 will take place on Saturday, April 4, 2020, 6:30-12:00 midnight at the Copper Tree Restaurant in Hunter Mountain, where we will present the Distinguished Service Awards, one for each of the three counties we serve – Greene, Columbia & Schoharie. This year, our Honorees are: Steven Patterson & John Sowle-Founders of the Bridge Street Theatre, Greene County; Elena Mosley-Executive Director of Operation Unite, Columbia County; and Cornelia McGiver-Artistic Director of Panther Creek Arts, Schoharie County.

This is charity gala event of art, music and dancing is a significant way for us to raise funds for general operations as well as to increase visibility and support for the work that we are doing in strengthening the arts and creative economy in the region. We are looking to raise $60,000, but we cannot meet our goal without the help of our artists, donors and friends. We hope we can count on your help to make this year’s event one of the best yet!!!

The event is expected to draw approximately 250 attendees but the most successful part of the evening is our Juried Silent Auction. Please consider helping us with a donation for the Silent Auction. Your donation can be as simple as a gift certificate to your business, a night on the town, or a weekend at your favorite resort. All donations are greatly appreciated but we hope that you will donate a specialty item, a VIP experience, Vacation/Travel Packages, Autographed Memorabilia and/or Original piece of art to our Juried Silent Auction. Our audience is always in search of the finest pieces and the most sought after services and experiences.

Each donated item and and auction donors will be listed on our website- www.greenearts.org. Please email a JPEG (72-300 dpi) of your artwork or item directly to gcca@greenearts.org no later than March 10, 2020 to be listed in the evening’s program. Include title, medium, dimensions, value and all other relevant information, including expiration dates for gift certificates and vouchers.

Please deliver your work or specialty item to the Catskill Gallery located at 398 Main Street in Catskill by March 17, 2020. (We are no longer able to accept donations at Hunter Mountain as we have in the past, all items must be brought to CREATE in Catskill.) Our Catskill Gallery is open Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday noon to 5 p.m. If you have any questions, please contact Sharon Shepherd at 518-943-3400.
