The Greene County Council on the Arts is changing to CREATE Council for Resources to Enrich the Arts, Technology & Education and is currently looking for a talented and dedicated Development Manager to join our staff! The Development Manager is responsible for establishing, developing, supervising, and maintaining a fundraising program to support and enhance the mission of CREATE to include the following areas: a major gifts program, annual fund, planned giving, corporate and foundation fundraising, and special events. This position works closely with the Executive Director, Board of Directors, and staff in all development and fundraising endeavors. This is a full-time exempt position with occasional events/weekends for events. Salary is $40,000 with two weeks paid leave, ten (10) recognized federal holidays and $300 monthly towards health insurance.
Understand and embrace the mission of the Greene County Council on the Arts.
With the Executive Director and Development Committee, create an annual fundraising plan.
Research prospects, make funding requests, and secure financial support from individuals, foundations, and corporations.
Train and assist Board and staff in using best practices in fundraising to strengthen the financial resources of the organization.
Attend community events, networking events, and conferences to further fundraising goals. Other related duties as assigned.
Spearhead the cultivation of donor relationships with assistance from the Executive Director and Board.
Help develop and craft messaging for the purpose of attracting sponsors, donors, and members. Identify and attract donors, sponsors, and attendees to fundraising events.
Collaborate with staff and the events committee on planning, managing, and executing fundraising events.
Reporting and Data Management
Supply all required reports for non-grant related fundraising. Develop, maintain and manage fundraising database.
Maintain gift recognition programs and donation acknowledgements.
Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Business, Public Humanities or relevant field. Three years non-profit development experience with proven track record of success. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong computer and database knowledge.
Ability to maintain absolute confidentiality of work related information.
Self-motivated individual with creative problem-solving skills, and ability to organize and prioritize work and meet critical deadlines.
Ability to work evenings and weekends as needed.
Possess a valid driver’s license and dependable car for use in various tasks.
