Outside the Lines

Showcasing Columbia, Greene and Schoharie Counties’ Youngest Artists

CREATE Council on the Arts is proud to present its 39th Annual Youth Arts Exhibition, “Outside the Lines,” featuring artwork by pre-K through Grade 12 students from Columbia, Greene and Schoharie County public, private and home schools.

“Outside the Lines” gives students the unique opportunity to exhibit their artwork in a professional gallery and allows visitors to see a wide cross-section of the diversity and promise of our region’s young creative talent.

During the exhibit, the gallery bursts with a kaleidoscope of colors and designs found in students’ paintings, drawings, collages, photographs, sculptures, and mixed media works.

It is the art teachers and administrators who are to be commended for fostering an appreciation of arts among their students and taking the time out of their busy academic schedules to help them prepare and cultivate their talents. And, of course, the students and their families whose generosity and creative energy make this an extraordinary annual student art exhibit (though we missed two years due to the pandemic).

CREATE COUNCIL ON THE ARTS is a non-profit, arts service organization whose purpose is to support and advance the arts and cultural community by broadening and enriching creative resources and economic growth in the region. CREATE serves as the Statewide Community Re-grant arts organization for Greene, Columbia and Schoharie Counties.

Since 1975, CREATE has provided information and essential services to artists, arts organizations, cultural and educational institutions, civic groups, community agencies and the general public, and continues to grow its outreach as a regional arts council.

CREATE is supported in part with public funds from the New York State Council on the Arts with the support of Governor Kathy Hochul and the New York State Legislature, and the Greene County Legislature.
