Volunteers… Let’s CREATE together!

CREATE welcomes volunteers to help out in a number of ways including events, exhibits, performances, online events, awards celebrations, in the gallery, in the office, building maintenance, or, other experience? Have ideas? Let us know.

Visual Arts:

MOUNTING EXHIBITS AND ARTWORK

Responsibilities – help take down art from previous exhibit, and mount art for the following new exhibit.

Requirements – Familiarity with hanging artwork, reliable and physically active.

Frequency/Hours – A few hours approximately every six weeks on a weekday.

OPENING RECEPTIONS (Paused until further notice)

Openings are a lot of fun and a great way to meet other artists and get involved in the CREATE community.

Responsibilities – Greet artists and guests on the first floor, hand out nametags and process any sales; assist upstairs with setting up food and beverage for receptions, greeting guests and cleaning up after the opening.

Requirements – Outgoing personality, punctual, able to remain calm and focused in a bustling environment, physically active.

Frequency/Hours – Every six weeks on a Saturday from 3-8/8:30pm (most openings are from 5-7pm)

AMTRAK CASES

Responsibilities – Pick up artwork from the CREATE gallery on Main Street, drive to the Amtrak station in Hudson, unlock and open the art cases, remove art, and display new art.

Requirements – Working car, able to step up several feet and handle heavy case cover, familiarity with hanging artwork.

Frequency/Hours – Approximately two hours every six weeks on a weekday or weekend (flexible).

SOCIAL MEDIA

CREATE is on Instagram, Facebook and Youtube. We need help keeping these accounts going with interesting, inspiring and informative content.

Responsibilities – Light research and typing. Photo/Video at Grantee events.

Requirements – Familiarity with the Internet. Familiarity with social media platforms.

Frequency/Hours – Flexible, but ideally two hours/week on Tuesday, Thursday or Friday.

Be a part of bringing quality Art programs to our region by representing your community as a Grant Panelist. 

Review, discuss and score Community Arts Grant Applications for funding. Panelist opportunities are open to Greene, Columbia, or Schoharie County residents.
