A very special event happened this October. Patricia Field, the award-winning costumer of HBO’s Sex and The City (series and movies), The Devil Wears Prada, and many other media projects, brought her ArtFashion collection to Catskill, NY as a benefit for Greene County Council on the Arts (GCCA).
Ms. Field’s ArtFashion show has been making waves in the art community from Miami’s Art Basel to Berlin to Bergdorf Goodman in New York City to, most recently, Mykonos, Greece (video above), and the world has taken notice of this fresh and exciting take on art and fashion.
That the iconic, magenta-haired Ms. Field brought her show to Catskill is already major—that she did so as a benefit for GCCA is also a major coup, one orchestrated by long-time GCCA supporter, Catskill resident, and friend of Ms. Field’s, Michele Saunders.
The Patricia Field ArtFashion show was held in Catskill the weekend of October 6 and 7, 2017 (the same weekend as the Hudson Valley Dance Festival, but not in conflict with any of the festival’s events) at Joe’s Garage-Catskill, a new industrial event space on Main Street and underwriter of the event. The schedule included two runway shows: Friday, October 6, at 7 pm followed by cocktails and music, and on Saturday, October 7 at 8:30 pm followed by a dance party DJ’d by Tedd Paterson. Ms. Field also hosted a pop-up shop at Joe’s Garage on Saturday, October 7 from 11 am to 7 pm.
Several factors made this an event not to be missed.
Ms. Field’s vision for her ARTFashion shows was to have the hand-painted clothing surrounded by colorful artwork; hence, Joe’s Garage featured over thirty pieces of artwork as the background for the runway shows. Ms. Field’s stable of artists [Scooter LaForge, Ben Copperwheat, Jody MORLOCK, ThesePinkLips aka Iris Bonner, StudMuffin NYC aka Kyle Brincefield, Suzan Pitt, Suzanne Mallouk, Hushi Mortezaie, Jojo Americo, Zachary Sierra Lainie, and SSIK Designs] were joined by several Hudson Valley artists, including Portia Munson, Justin Love, Nina Isabelle, Lucy Blaire, and Ginnie Gardiner, as well as a number of New York City artists, including Lola Jiblazee, Renée Snelson aka XORS, Keli Lucas, Mackenzie Spindler, Anthony E. Boone aka Boone Art Life, Karni Dorell, and Clockwork Cros, a Surrealist artist whose works are collected by several prominent collectors and celebrities.
All items in the show were for sale, and a portion of sales to benefited GCCA.

“Columbia-Greene Federal Credit Union (CGFCU) has been in existence for more than 4 decades” according to President and CEO Victoria Marrone “We were created in 1975 as an option to traditional banking. The main difference between a credit union and a bank is the form of ownership,” Marrone explained. “We are owned by our members who have accounts with us. As long as you have $5 in our credit union, you have the same ownership as every other member. It doesn’t matter how much money you have with us.” “We offer excellent borrowing rates and terms.”We also appreciate the work done by the GCCA to foster amazing works in Greene County such as the upcoming Patricia Field ARTFASHION show on October 6-8, 2017.
